So far last year I tried 4 different line on my match reels. The Maxima line was the best one by far, only downfall is that it had way to much memory. For this year I'm going to try a different line maybe something you can suggest. I am looking for low memory, has to be abrasion resistant, and must sink not float. So if you know or use a line with the three characteristics please post them. Thanks in advance, Daniel.

I've been useing 8lb Trilene Big Game as for anything lighter try Sufix ???? Maxima works great for me used it off and on over the years along with every other line out there. I have read negative reviews about its memory in line weights greater than #6, Seems like the line is too wiry and stiff. I don't know about that as i have only used in #2, #4 and now in #6. Ande would be my close second choice except that it frays a lot near the hooklink. Not to start another line debate I have been in enough of them sigh) It sure must be Cabin fever time up where most of you are from. |

I was thinking of trying the Big Game, I use it on my feeder reels. Suffix is one line I never tried in the lower tests, I do use it for bass though.
Ya the Maxima is great line, I can't argue that, but I'm a very picky person and the memory really ticks me off. I do have 3 or so spools left I will give it another go. However I have to figure out what to put on the other reels for testing. -------------------- |

Does any one use Cajun line? Some of us,(Robert K, Fred R, Paul W. and myself) went to the Tinley Park Show yesterday and went to the Catfishing Seminar. The question of line came up, and he claims he never uses braid, only Mono, and the only brand he uses is the Cajun. He claims it is abrasion resistant and the red color is invisible to the fish in the water. Later at their booth, they gave away a spool with every purchase and some of us got a spool. I have been using Big Game as I felt it was quite abrasion resistant. I do like line with a little color to it as it is a lot easier for my tired old eyes to see and tie.

I used to use the Cajun stuff for bass and pike fishing. It's great line and very abrasion resistant. The bonus is it's not that pricey.
